Dashtaki Announces Candidacy Following A Successful Fundraising Quarter

October 22, 2009

Jefferson City – Cyrus Dashtaki, Mo. House District 113 announced today that his campaign raised over $11,000 during the fundraising quarter that ended September 30.

The outpouring of early support has been humbling and inspiring,” said Dashtaki. “Voters tell me they want someone who will stand up for hardworking Missourians on the floor of the state capitol, and I am glad that my friends, family and neighbors are willing to help get there.”

Dashtaki officially announced his campaign during a kick-off dinner at the Eagles Aerie in Jefferson City, which included family, friends, and other supporters, on October 9, 2009.

During the event, Dashtaki spoke about the importance of creating and maintaining better paying jobs within Cole County and mid-Missouri, ensuring that all children receive a top-notch education, and exercising fiscal discipline during tough economic times. “Missouri ingenuity, innovation and creativity are the solutions to our economic problems,” said Dashtaki, “not more money.”

Former State Representative Bill Gratz said, “I believe that Cyrus is the type of advocate Cole County needs in these trying times.   Cyrus is pro-life, supports our constitutional right to bear arms, and represents the type of fiscal responsibility that we need during challenging times.”

Cyrus Dashtaki currently serves as an attorney prosecuting deceptive and unfair trade practices and enforcing workers’ rights and public accommodation laws.  Dashtaki, who was born and raised in Jefferson City, is a graduate of St. Peters Grade School, Helias High School, Lincoln University, and Washington University School of Law.
